You can also enjoy the rich history of the old towns with their half-timbered houses, terraces and many shops (Bad Hersfeld, Fulda) and various museums.
At the reservoir near the holiday park there is a water ski course, where you will also find a terrace, a beach and bathing facilities. There are 2 outdoor swimming pools in the neighbouring villages (Kirchheim and Oberaula).
In winter you can cross the area on cross-country skis, go sledging and there are ski areas.
