At Frankenau Holiday Park, you’ll be staying in the “Gretel’s Gingerbread House”. This comfortable and cosily furnished house can accommodate up to 6 people.
The spacious living and dining area is equipped with a modern pellet stove, cable TV and a stereo system. The spacious dining area is perfect for delicious family meals and fun games evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher and microwave. Kitchen towels and washing-up cloths, including dishwasher tablets, are also provided.
The two upper bedrooms have their own washbasins and are fitted with electric blinds. The lower bedroom also has its own toilet. The house is heated by a modern infrared heating system and a new pellet stove (installed in January 2020). CO₂ alarms and CO detectors are fitted. Pellets can be purchased from the owner.
The Gretel Gingerbread House has a south-facing balcony and a garden with a sun terrace, equipped with garden furniture for relaxing in the fresh air.
In the Kellerwald National Park, there are many hiking trails, the new Kellerwald Clock and the Arche-Hof to explore. Lake Edersee offers water sports, a wildlife park, a climbing park for adventure seekers, a treetop walk, a summer cycle track and much more. Towering above Lake Eder is Waldeck Castle, a medieval gem that has given its name to the entire tourist region. Why not explore the home of the Brothers Grimm too, as we are situated close to the German Fairy Tale Route, featuring Little Red Riding Hood Land, Snow White Village and more.
Equestrian enthusiasts can take riding lessons right next to the park, hire a covered wagon for a tour and, if required, even stable their own horse so they can spend their holiday in Hesse together with it. Anglers will also find plenty to enjoy in the region. You shouldn’t miss a visit to the romantic half-timbered towns in the surrounding area, such as Frankenberg, Korbach, Bad Wildungen and Marburg. There you’ll find tranquil spots, as well as cultural attractions and great shopping opportunities.
