This holiday home has a beautiful location on the hilly Westhoek, hidden on a wooded and closed property with wild flowers and a natural pond. The holiday home is only 1.5 kilometers away from the city center of the beautiful city of Ypres, which is known for its history with the First World War.
From the holiday home's living room and terrace you have a beautiful view of the garden and the pond. The house has been lovingly restored by the owners and very tastefully furnished. In the living room there is a nice decorative bed, which can, however, also serve as an additional place to sleep. In the garden you can enjoy the quiet until late and see the birds that like to drink from the pond. There are also two sheep running around that occasionally say hello.
If you can tear yourself away from this paradise, you can go on nice bike rides or go for a walk in the Palingbeek Nature Park 1 km away. Hike along the ponds created by World War I craters such as the Caterpillar and Bluff. Go on a sporty bike tour on the famous Kemmelberg or the Rode and Zwarte Berg. In Westouter you can admire the landscape from a cable car.
If you still have some time, we also recommend visiting the cities of Bruges and Lille (F); Bruges for the beautifully preserved medieval city and Lille for the lovely half-timbered houses and impressive buildings in the old town. In both cases, you also have nice shopping opportunities. If the weather is nice, you can be on the beach of De Panne in half an hour. In short, this holiday home is the perfect place for a varied holiday!
