But also culturally the city and its surroundings have something to offer. Here you will find Sønderjyllands Kunstmuseum with the water tower, which has a permanent exhibition of Wegner furniture and a fantastic view of the city, Vidåen and the marshland. In Højer stands Northern Europe's tallest Dutch windmill, built in 1857, with a museum on the history of mills and the cultural and natural history of the marshes in the Tondern. From the mill you can look directly onto the Wadden Sea and overlook the whole marsh. For a day on the sandy beach, you can plan a trip to the island of Rømø, which will remain a wonderful memory.
